Prince George’s County, Md High School Student Killed in Shooting

The Prince George’s County, Md. Police Department is searching for suspects in the shooting death of a 17-year-old Suitland, Md. high school student.

According to police on Dec. 7 at about 3:15 a.m., patrol officers were called to the 4900 block of Suitland Road to check on the well being of an individual.

When patrol officers arrived, they found Brandon Ramone Johnson, 17, of the 3200 block of Prince Ranier Place in District Heights, Md. lying in a parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, detectives were not able to identify Johnson until a day after his death due to the fact that he had no identification on him at the time of the shooting.

Johnson was a student at Crossland High School in Temple Hills, Md. While school administrators were not available to comment on Johnson’s death, students and family shared their thoughts on social media.

One student tweeted, “They need to find out who killed my bro[ther] man.”

“I don’t even want to go to school anymore. Its not the same,” another wrote.

“They say when you lose a sense one get stronger, well I lost touch with my bro[ther], so I guess it made me stronger. RIP,” a third wrote.

Detectives are following up on several leads as they continue to work to identify the suspect or suspects and a motive in the case.
